PMSMCA partnered with Starkmedia for a complete website redesign and rebuild in WordPress. Two key priorities were improving how events are presented and how users register for them, and giving the PMSMCA team a more efficient way to manage and update content internally.
Improving Events and Registration
We developed flexible event page templates that give PMSMCA a consistent structure for publishing and maintaining event content, while giving important information and registration calls to action given greater visibility.
We also integrated the website with MemberZone, PMSMCA’s third-party membership and event management platform. This connects the website with existing registration workflows while allowing the team to continue managing registrations through MemberZone.
Rethinking the Site Structure
A significant part of the redesign involved restructuring the site’s information architecture and navigation. We reorganized existing content into more defined sections and developed page layouts that make information easier to scan and manage.
Member benefits, programs, industry resources, career information, and other important content are now organized more intuitively. The new structure also gives users clearer paths to registering for events and signing up for membership.
Simplifying Content Management
The new WordPress build was structured to make daily content management easier for the PMSMCA team. We developed reusable page components and editable content areas that give them more control over creating and updating pages without sacrificing consistency across the site.
This is especially valuable for frequently changing content like events, registration information, dates, imagery, and other details that need to be updated throughout the year. We also incorporated existing event and social photography into the page layouts to add visual interest and make that content easy to refresh
The finished website brings together structured content, reusable components, third-party integration, and improved information architecture to create a better experience for members while giving PMSMCA a website that’s much easier to maintain.
